Morning Coffee
There is nothing more exhilarating for a coffee lover than to wake up to the smell of fresh brewed coffee. Drinking coffee in the morning has always been thought to give us the boost we need for the day. But new studies has concluded that morning cup may not actually help us get going. Researchers say the caffeine eases withdrawal symptoms which build up overnight, but does not make people more alert than usual. Individuals who have not drank coffee in a while do get a buzz from caffeine, but regular coffee drinkers do feel more alert. That alertness we feel in the morning is us getting back to the normal waking world.
There are people who swear by their morning coffee fix say it does wake them up and if they missed out on their beverage they would feel sluggish and unable to get on with the rest of their day. But studies has concluded that all the coffee does is counteracting the mild caffeine withdrawal symptoms people are experiencing because they have gone overnight without the caffeine, and those who drink coffee first thing in the morning are no more alert than those who never drank one. If you’re not a regular coffee drinker, you might get something out of one or two cups, but once you have made it a habit to drink coffee in the morning, it won’t do much to keep you alert.
